How to Do a Subtle and Romantic Date Night Makeup Look

Are you going on a first date? Did you already choose the look for the night? And what about your makeup? Stop by to find out how to do a subtle romantic date night look that will make a great first impression. Need more? We have some extra tips about preparing your skin as well.

Since the pressure is always present, you don’t need to worry about your makeup as well. A simple yet noticeable makeup look can be done without too much fuss. And these are the tips that we find the most useful for you.

Prepare your Skin

Like for all other occasions, makeup for a first date should look delicate and natural. But, you shouldn’t forget about preparing your skin. A gentle cleanser, toner, serum, and moisturizer are products that will actually be more important for makeup than the makeup itself.

Primer First

Using a suitable primer for your skin can help makeup hold a bit longer and look like you have just applied it. There are many different types of primers. If your skin is oily, make sure to find a mattifying primer that will work on your T-zone. On the other hand, if your skin is dry or normal, go for glowy and dewy primers that add that famous shine to the skin.

Foundation

For a romantic date night, you will want to have flawless skin, without it looking like it is caked on in foundation. That is why you should go for a foundation with dewy, light coverage, or a tinted cream even. Avoid those heavy foundations that can make your face appear cakey or darker than it already is.

Use a Concealer

If you hadn’t slept well before your date and you don’t want your dark circles to be seen, use a concealer. It should be the same consistency as your foundation. According to makeup artists, you can apply it before or after foundation. Draw triangles under each eye - that should hide those dark circles.

Grab your Bronzer and Blush

Every makeup no matter how natural needs a bit of warming up. You can achieve that with bronzer. It gives your skin healthy contours that appear as the sun hits you during the day. On the other hand, you can also add a bit of blush for healthy pink cheeks. It will define your cheekbones, making your smile even more enhancing.

Go For Neutral Eyes

We don’t recommend doing a red carpet smokey eye look. Instead, opt for more neutral eye makeup or go for the subtle smokey eye. You keep the things simple, use your regular eyeshadow palette and choose the shades that are between brown, nude, with a bit of shimmer, and darker for the outer eye corners.

If You are an Eyeliner Fan...

After doing your eye makeup with these neutral shadows, you can add a winged eyeliner and make your eyes pop a bit more. Draw a thin line just above the lashes and make that wing count at the outer corners.

Mascara to Highlight the Lashes

One of the last things you want to do is apply mascara. Depending on how you love your mascara and lashes to look you can do one or more coats. If you prefer longer lashes, choose the mascara for volume. On the other hand, if your goal is to have a natural makeup look for your date, then one coat of mascara will be more than enough.

Lips for The End

When it comes to lips, many women don’t actually know how to do them without looking overdone. You want something that will be smudge-proof and lasts all night (even if the kisses are included). Tinted lip balms are great for this occasion. They will protect your lips, make them soft and just a bit colored.
